No Binding. Condición: Very Good. "Steven Durland. (Tacit.): 8 issues of postcard magazine (5 with hand-written message to verso, 1 rubber-stamped message, & 1 performance invitation) + 1 signed drawing on Tacit letterhead. (9 items). New York: Steven Durland, 1981-1982, 1984. (9 items). 6 Postcards, one 4-page folding postcard, one 4-page folding postcard with postcard laid-in and 1 sheet. Very good. Minor edge wear. 7 postcards have postage stamps and markings, as well as handwriting in pen and rubber-stamps. May 1982 issue has chipping to front middle right from staple removal as well as staple holes. Sheet has two horizontal folds, small closed tear top middle, a few spots of soiling a well as handwritten note with drawing. 8 issues of (Tacit.), a postcard mini-newspaper, spanning 1981-1982 produced by artist Steven Durland as well as a single sheet with a drawing. These items were all mailed to Smegma magazine publisher Torrid Zone Igloo (a.k.a Alex Igloo a.k.a Alex Hirka). 5 with hand-written message to verso, 1 rubber-stamped message, & 1 invitation to a performance at Arleen Schloss' loft performance venue A's. The single sheet is dated 11/27/84, begins with "Dear Alex," followed by a drawing of a fire hydrant and then "Best, St" on (Tacit.) letterhead complete with Los Angeles address. Steven Durland's (Tacit.) was a postcard mini-newspaper series which later expanded to a 4-page folding postcard format and then a column in High Performance magazine. Durland used (Tacit.) as a way to satirically comment on topical happenings: both local, political, and cultural as well as announce performances, his move to Los Angeles, and general shit-talking. A personal and practical use of mail art. Steven Durland (1956-2021) was an artist, publisher, editor (of High-Performance Magazine), mail art participant, and advocate for performance art as well as creativity in general.".
