Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. 1st Edition, Limited Edition. Poet Neilson Abeel (1902 - 1949) was a graduate of Princeton, and a benefactor to the Princeton Library. This book, simply titled "Poems by Neilson Abeel" was published by Princeton University Press in 1951 in a limited edition of 150 copies. This is Copy No. 133, so inked on the limitation page (see picture provided above). The handsome portrait of Mr. Abeel, used as the frontispiece, was painted in 1925 by Edward Steese, who also compiled and edited the book. Beneath the portrait is a facsimile of Neilson Abeel's signature . The book includes a number of poems about Princeton. Mr. Steese, as well as being a poet and architect, is esteemed for his efforts to preserve historic architecture of New York City. On the front flyleaf is a gift inscription to "Mrs. Havens" signed by "Stachy Abeel". Stachy could have been a diminutive of Stacy or Stacie.
