Bifolium on grey wove paper. In good condition, lightly aged, with traces of paper from mount adhering to the blank verso of the second leaf, and details typed at head. Folded once. Addressed to 'Dear Fulleylove' and signed 'Arthur Severn.' He invites him to dinner, on behalf of himself and his wife (Joan, a cousin of John Ruskin, born Agnew): 'dinner will be at 7.30 or 8 and I thought if you came out early enough we might have some bowls in the garden'. He gives directions from London, adding: 'Of course come in any dress. / I have asked [?] and Linton'. He ends: 'If it is bad weather I shall only expect you to be here at 7.30 but can do as you like about that, welcome at any time'.

Purple embossed cloth with gilt title and decoration to front. Attractive illustrations with decorated text and paper guards. Spine and corners bumped. Fading to spine and cover edges. Previous owner's name and date and ink to front endpaper. A couple of hinges cracked. Some light foxing but contents generally bright and clean. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!

Folio 14½'' x 11¼'' unpaginated. Twelve floral colour plates with an engraved scene containing the months of the year in which chromolithography, etching, and letterpress type all appear together. The leaves of the book are all loose, the covers being secure and complete with rubbing across the corners, snagging across the spine ends with 25 mm splitting of the cloth to upper spine edge. Though the authors are (deservedly) obscure, the chromolithos and gilt illuminations are attractive enough. Green gilt pictorial cloth with onlaid paper floral designs, with large centered circular zodiac, a.e.g. Extremities rubbed, else extrenally bright and attractive. Disbound, but leaves in very nice condition. there is some spotting to text leaves at rear, but chromos clean and bright 12 leaves illustrated with copper etching and color chromolithograph after water-color by Severn. 1 vols. Folio.

This album also contained letters to Meredith from major writers including Thomas Hardy, George Eliot, R.L. Stevenson, and Henry James, AND Pencil Sketch of Young Woman, Head and something of her shoulde by Lawrence Alma-Tadema described elsewhere on my inventory.
