Between 1997 and 2009 three expeditions to different parts of French Polynesia were organized by MNHN and IRD. Three new deep water species of the genera Mitra and Cancilla from these cruises are described herein: Mitra structilis n. sp. from the Austral Islands, compared with Mitra rinaldii Turner, 1993 from Somalia and with Mitra geigeri (Poppe, Tagaro & Salisbury, 2009) from the Philippines; Mitra (Nebularia) tabida n. sp. from the Tuamotus and the Marquesas, compared with M. (N.) tuberosa Reeve, 1845 and with M. (N.) lugubris Swainson, 1821. A third species, Cancilla fluctuosa n. sp. from the Marquesas and Austral Islands, is compared with Cancilla apprimapex Poppe, Tagaro & Salisbury, 2009 and with Neocancilla armonica (T.
