Before Ellen Ros…ser made a name for herself in the 1970s as a small press publisher, an activist, and a professor of English at California State University, she was working on a degree at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Together with co-editor Paul Thompson and art editor Gary Greussing, Rosser produced this undated collection of poetry in the early 1960s towards the end of the Beat Era. Fittingly enough, an ad from a beatnik coffeeshop called The Pad is printed on the rear cover, where incidentally, nineteen year old Bob Dylan would play while crashing on couches for a short time in 1961. Given the cover title we suspect that this was the third in a series, but have been unable to confirm this as there are no other copies in holdings save for one copy of this same edition in the UK. However, She Was Convinced To Return To Mathematics By Her Friend László Kalmár, Who Suggested She Research The Work Of Kurt Gödel On The Theory Of Incompleteness.[3] She Prepared Her Own, Different Proofs To Gödel's Work. Contributions from Douglas Blazek, Lyn Lifs…hin, Russell Edson, Paul Zweig, and many others. Published by Ellen Rosser, Professor Emeritus at CSU-Sacramento, who published several volumes of collected poetry during her career using her own press. Leaves are fine with the exception of several small ink spots on the bottom of the cover and contributors page. Broadsides of poetry clean and unmarked. Envelope shows wear. Near Fine/Good. Scarce.
