The signatures of Sutcliffe and Woolley are on a 16 x 18 cm. piece of grey paper, cut from an album, those of the other three men are crowded onto an L-shaped piece of paper, laid down on the same leaf. At head of page: 'Yorkshire v. Rest of England, The Oval, Sept. 1923.' The odd man out is B. W. Bullock [ Burnett Wedlake Bullo…ck ] (1896-1954), who did not take part in the match. He played for Surrey, and was presumably around when his more illustrious colleagues were giving autographs. According to the report in The Times, the match ended in a draw.

Condition is Very Good; most of the books are very good with mild edge wear, bindings are all tight, text pages are all very clean and unmarked, 12 volumes have water damage with darked areas of leather and rippled boards, text pages are not affected, 2 volumes are missing small pieces of leather at top of spine. This is obviously a very heavy set of books which would incur additional shipping charges, pick-up in Blue Hill Maine can be arranged. CW RGR.

4'' x 7'' Autograph book. Each page details whether the signature is genuine, and if so, where and when it was acquired, the book also contains a number of copy signatures. Small newspaper clippings and, or, colour cigarette cards accompany each page. The Jack Hobbs signature states: 'Nothing succeeds like character, J. B. Hobbs…, April 1930' the comments to this page state that this was acquired from Jack Hobbs own shop, 59 Fleet Street, London. The Harold Larwood signature was obtained from Gamages, Holborn, in the nets. Member of the P.B.F.A. SPORT [Cricket].
