The magazine had 14 issues and was published from January 1968 to July 1971. From January, 1968, through July, 1971, Ginzburg published Avant Garde. While it could not be termed obscene, it was filled with creative imagery often caustically critical of American society and government, sexual themes, and (for the time) crude language.Avant Garde had a modest circulation but was extremely popular in certain circles, including New York's advertising and editorial art directors. Herbert F. Lubalin (1918-1981), a post-modern design guru, was Ginzburg's collaborator on his four best-known magazines, including Avant Garde, which gave birth to a well-known typeface of the same name. It was originally intended primarily for use in logos: the first version consisted solely of 26 capital letters. It was inspired by Ginzburg and his wife, designed by Lubalin, and realized by Lubalin's assistants and Tom Carnese, one of Lubalin's partners. It is characterized by geometrically perfect round strokes; short, straight lines; and an extremely large number of kerned ligatures. The International Typeface Corporation (ITC) (of which Lubalin was a founder) released a full version in 1970."--wikipedia ; G. Book. …

Paperback. Condición: new. Paperback. The story takes place between 2012 and 2020. The national debt in America continues its climb into the stratosphere. Runaway inflation and devastating unemployment are causing millions to find themselves without work and on the verge of insolvency. Homelessness is looming in their future. Religious prosecution is ramping up as prohibitions on religious symbolism and prayer in public places continue to escalate and stimulate acts of violence towards Christian and Jews. Then a glowing trench suddenly and mysteriously appears in the Amargosa Desert in the southwestern United States. The trench is discovered by a jet pilot flying maneuvers over the area. Many begin to believe this is a message from God, and the press dubs the trench THE Line in the Sand. This trench spurs a secret, powerful and mysterious 'think-tank' group to recruit twin brothers, Ben and Robert O'Neill, to lead a massive mission aimed at providing relief to persons suffering from the deteriorating situations taking place in America. This mission leads millions on a path to wholeness and is reminiscent of the innovative spirit of our ancestors as they moved westward in the early days of America. The many tales of individual struggles, triumph and humaneness will capture your heart. The turn of events that take place and the results of this mega mission will stun and stimulate your imagination. This item is printed on demand.
