Slight spotting to the spine, still about fine in a very attractive, near fine dustwrapper with a small chip at the crown, and a few old, internal repairs. Old mountain man trains his dead partner's son in the ways of the West. One of five novels by Barker, who immigrated from England as a child and settled in the Idaho before moving to Hollywood. In addition to writing for the screen (although he is not to be confused with the silent film director of the same name), Barker also wrote over 500 short stories, some of which were filmed. Grizzly Gallagher was his most popular character. A very nice copy of a scarce book, *OCLC* lists only three copies.
