Leather. Condición: Very Good Indeed. A novel by the renowned Swedish author and feminist reformer Fredrika Bremer, translated into French. A new edition of this uncommon work in a quarter calf binding with marbled boards. Fredrika Bremer (1801-1865) was a Finnish-born Swedish writer and feminist reformer. During the mid-19th century, her Sketches of Everyday Life were extremely popular in Britain and the United States, and her novel Hertha incited a social movement that granted all unmarried Swedish women legal majority at 25 years of age. This work, The Neighbours, is part of her Sketches of Everyday Life, which helped promote realist novels in Swedish literature. It has been translated into French as Les Voisins, by Rosalie Du Puget. In a quarter calf binding. Externally very smart, with just a little rubbing to the spine and joints. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age toned with the odd spot. Very Good Indeed. None (ilustrador). book.…

soft cover. Condición: very good. first edition.
