The central theme focused in this chapter is onset of puberty and nutritional status among female students with aim to evaluate the association between age at menarche and the potential economic (parents occupation status) and social correlates viz. religious and caste system, level of parents education, place of residence, number of children in a family etc. it concluded that age at puberty is affected by economic and nutritional status as well as body weight and the BMI.
