"Eufrosina Portula Del Carretto nacque in Vercelli dalla nobile famiglia dei marchesi Del Carretto, e fu sposata al conte Luigi Portula, splendore dell'alta magistratura in Torino, del quale rimase vedova dopo soli tre anni di matrimonio. Da giovinetta ebbe viva inclinazione alla poesia.Conobbe la Diodata Saluzzo negli ultimi suoi anni e fu onorata del particolare suo affetto. Versi e prose parecchie son qua e la' in libri e giornali.
