Paperback. Condición: new. Paperback. A big cat never announces its arrival. Neither does wisdom.Father's Mistakes, Son's Wisdom is a complete program of education and personal development, structured as eighteen steps for building a capable, grounded, and self-aware life. It is written for young adults stepping into the full weight of adult life - and for any reader who wants to develop character deliberately rather than leave it to chance.Drawing on the Bhagavad Gita and the Stoic philosophy of Marcus Aurelius and Seneca, the book moves through eighteen chapters covering self-awareness, discipline and self-control, knowledge and planning, communication, relationships and boundaries, wealth and leverage, leadership, health, purpose, and the shape of a well-lived life. Each chapter is a step in the climb - and each is built as a month of practice, with four weeks of structured reflection and action, so the reader does not merely absorb the ideas but applies them. This is a book about seeing clearly, preparing quietly, and acting at the right moment - about becoming, in the author's words, both good and capable. Part philosophy, part practical curriculum, part field guide, it turns timeless wisdom into a usable, step-by-step system for growth. It is written to be worked through over time and returned to often.Eighteen steps. One staircase. A structured path from where you are to who you could become. A big cat never announces its arrival. Neither does wisdom. Eighteen steps, drawn from the Bhagavad Gita and the Stoics, for building a capable, grounded, self-aware life: self-awareness, discipline, wealth, relationships, leadership and purpose. A father's distilled wisdom, written for his son and for every reader ready to climb. This item is printed on demand. Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - On the planet Nasauria, an alien flunks a love exam so badly his planet deports him to Yorkshire to learn romance - and overstays. Romance was declared a catastrophic waste of processing time nine hundred years ago. So when Zyx Vorlan-7 fails the one exam nobody is supposed to fail - the affection assessment - there is only one sentence: deportation. Four hundred days on the galaxy's most hopelessly sentimental planet to learn what love is. Then home, to marry the mate an algorithm chose for him. He is thrown out of the sky over a field in Beverley, told to blend in, and given exactly one job: observe. He was not supposed to fall for Mina- a wedding planner with a wall around her heart, one iron rule about always finding out the truth first, and no idea that the quiet man turning her roses white is seven feet of alien with four hearts and a terrible secret. Now his visa clock is glowing red, the whole of Yorkshire is quietly rearranging itself around him, and the fiancee he left behind has just landed - grey coat, clipboard, and a warrant with his name on it.The only thing left to learn is how it ends.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - The machine tells this one itself. A neural network is not a brain. This book is the machine explaining what it actually is: an arrangement of numbers, a way of being corrected, and a set of choices somebody made on its behalf. Thirty chapters take it from a single bent line to the machines behind today's language models, and every one of them is built from nothing. No framework, no automatic differentiation, no accelerator. Every backward pass is written out by hand and checked against finite differences first. What makes this book unusual is that every number in it was measured before it was printed. Each chapter has a verification script beside it that states the chapter's claims in plain words, runs the experiment, and tests each claim in turn. If a claim fails, the script stops. The script writes its results into a file the chapter prints from, so the sentence you read and the measurement behind it cannot come apart. Wherever the experiment disagreed with the draft, the words were changed and not the experiment. That discipline produced results the usual account leaves out. Dropout made no measurable difference on the problem it was tested on. Weight decay bought a little and no more. A network built to ignore where things are was caught reading position off the edge of the picture. Those are in the book because they are what happened. Forty-two full-page plates. A toolkit chapter that builds the whole thing again in one place, and a glossary that points every term back to the chapter that earned it. The verification scripts are available to any reader who wants to run them. Written by a fifteen-year-old and his father, for anyone who would rather understand the machine than be impressed by it. Book Two of Know the Machine, following \*The Mathematics Behind Machine Learning\* (978-1-911866-04-6).…
