Hard Cover, Pictorial Boards. Condición: Very Good. First Edition. It has been said that the material heritage of a civilised people symbolises its spiritual growth and content, and that the indiscriminate and deliberate destruction of our tangible and visible cultural her itage is equivalent to the obliteration of our historical traditions which should form the essential back ground of our understanding of the present and our planning of the future, which is, it may be added, of particular importance at this stage in the history of South Africa. This material heritage obviously also includes our historical military buildings. By reconstructing a record of human activities Man, indeed, aims to achieve a more profound understanding of them. Thus this collection of historical military structures, each with its own particular history of human drama, some wellknown and others quite unknown to the majority of South Africans, attempts to foster a better understanding of the past in order that we may plan our future as South Africans better together. ------------------------------------------ 125 pages with beautiful sepia photographs. ---------- Orders of $100.00 or more are shipped using tracked courier delivery services. Size: Roughly 8½" Wide - 12" Tall.…
