Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - One man looks back on a long life and a changing world, writing not for fame but for his children. The voice is disarmingly direct. In this candid autobiographical life story, P. B. Borcherds traces his journey from youth to advanced age, shaping a classic personal memoir that speaks across generations. In plain, unaffected prose, he records the people, places and incidents that formed him, creating a family history narrative that also opens a window onto nineteenth century life. Everyday routines, public events and private turning-points sit side by side, offering life lessons and reflections without sermon or sentimentality. As a historical autobiography book, it captures social history and culture at ground level, making it invaluable for family historians, for biography lovers, and for readers of classic memoirs who enjoy stepping into life in past centuries and voices like nineteenth century memoirs. Out of print for decades and now republished by Alpha Editions, An Autobiographical Memoir stands as both intimate testimony and primary source. Restored for today's and future generations, it preserves a distinctive perspective on character, duty and change over time. More than a reprint - a collector's item and a cultural treasure, this careful edition suits casual readers curious about the past as much as dedicated students of history and collectors building a serious library of enduring life-writing.…
