He wrote over 60 novels, published between 1877-1926 (posthumously). He also wrote numerous series of short stories, many of which appeared in Cornhill Magazine, Pall Mall Magazine, and the Illustrated London News. Clarissa Furiosa, which deals with English politics and the writing career of its protagonist, is one of his middle novels. This copy is a first edition (NCBEL indicates that the American edition precedes the London, Methuen, 1897 edition). VERY SCARCE.
