Jan. 2, 1942) and that was for a time distributed by City Lights Bookstore. A perfectly serviceable reference copy; nothing fancy, but complete and sturdy, staple-bound, sunned at spine and… along top and bottom edges, a bit rubbed and with lightly sunned page edges, else with clean, bright and unmarked interiors. Unpaginated but with roughly 30 pp. and with plentiful black-and-white photographs and cartoon-like blurtings throughout. Herman founded NOVA Broadcast Press as well as the journal San Francisco Earthquake (1967-1971). Herman "published Beat, post-Beat and Fluxus writers and artists such as William Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Dick Higgins, Wolf Vostell, Norman Mustill, Claude Pelieu, Mary Beach, Liam O'Gallagher and Nanos Valaoritis. He worked with Higgins at Something Else Press, becoming the editor (1972-1974). He co-wrote Cut Up or Shut Up, with Carl Weissner and Jurgen Ploog, and published other experimental fiction. He is also the author of A Talent for Trouble, the biography of the director William Wyler" (see the Northwestern University library "finding aids" page devoted to "people" and the Jan Herman Archive). Herman became a reporter and columnist at the Chicago Sun-Times, the New York Daily News and the Los Angeles Times and then even a Senior Editor at MSNBC!Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.

Burroughs, Carl Solomon, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Gail Dusenbery, Bob Kaufman, Janine Pommy Vega. Janine has hand corrected her two poems "The Last Watch" and "To Fernando". A wonderful association piece with her corrections and signature initials to the front cover of Mustill. Good all around illustrated wraps.

Uncommon work by the eni…gmatic Canadian-American collage artist and concrete poet, a fixture in the late-Beat San Francisco scene who in later years lived a semi-reclusive existence in the Arizona desert. Though Mustill lived until 2013, he appears to have stopped publishing new work after the early 1970s.
