Inside front cover has large bookplate from the National Military Park in Fredericksburg, VA (Conway's home town), stamped 'withdrawn' at the side. A small label below the bookplate says 'By Exchange from New York Public Library, 1941." Ownership name on first blank page, "E. N. Partridge 1862." There is a waterstain on that page, as well. Title page dated 1862. Stated second edition. Conway's name is not printed on the title page, but a librarian has written in in pencil below the printed 'Native of Virginia.' 131 pages. Another large water stain on rear endpaper, but nothing on the text pages themselves. Overall a good copy, with the added interest of being from Fredericksburg, VA, where Conway's house still stands.
