Apart from the picture, the title song was a genuine 1930 hit, recorded that year by Anson Weeks, Johnny Marvin, the Clicquot Club Eskimos, and others. Probably this drawing comports with the late Lewis Carroll's vision of the young ALICE in his mind's eye.The mushroom at her feet is about as phallic as it gets on sheet music and certainly the Mad Hatter and March Hare seem to be engaged in heated reparte.
