Signed by both authors to 'A. V. Masham from Edgar Turner and Reginald Hodder' dated the 4th December 1905. Number One of "The Caxton Romances…", published by The Caxton Press. Written by Reginald Hodder and Edgar Turner, who wrote a number of works together, including this novel and 'The Armada Gold'. 'The Purloined Prince' is a romance novel filled with twists and mishaps, narrated by Oxford undergraduate Harry Osborne, set in a number of locations across the world. Illustrated by Irish artist Albert Morrow, with nine plates and a frontispiece. Collated, complete. Bound in the publisher's original cloth. Externally, excellent, withlight bumping to the extremities and the odd small mark to cloth. Spine has darkened slightly. Hinges are a little strained but holding firm. Age toning to endpapers, with the author's ink inscription to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the odd handling mark. Very Good Indeed.
