(= Oeuvres). Schlagworte: Geschichte - Antike, Alte Drucke - nach 1550, Literatur Franz., Philosophie.

Illustrated with engraved plates and beautifully bound, this is the vanishingly scarce three volume edition of La Grange's French-Latin edition of Lucretius's 'De Rerum Natura'. A bilingual work, in both French and the original Latin. The French translation is the work of Joseph Lagrange, who first published his edition of this work in 1768. The vanishingly scarce three volume 1793 to 1794 edition of this work, with all three volumes bound together, retaining title pages and half titles. This edition is dated 'l'an deuxieme de la republique' to the title page tails, indicating the years 1793 and 1794. Illustrated with a frontispiece and six further engraved plates, drawn by C. Monnet. Collated, complete. Roman poet and philosopher Lucretius's philosophical didactic poem 'De Rerum Natura'.The poem, divided into six untitled books, explores Epicurean physics through poetic language and metaphors.
