A. C. McLean served as principal of the Luckey Schools in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was active in curriculum design for primary and intermediate English instruction. Thomas C. Blaisdell, Ph.D., was professor of English at the Fifth Avenue Normal High School, Pittsburgh, and later known for his work in teacher training and textbook authorship.
