Paperback. Condición: new. Paperback. Succession planning is often discussed in terms of strategy, governance, legal structures, and financial preparation. These elements are important, but they do not tell the whole story. For founders, succession can mean confronting a myriad of fears. For the next generation, stepping forward can bring both opportunity and pressure to honor the past while shaping the future. This is why succession planning is not simply a business process. It is a human process. Throughout this book, we explore stages that help families navigate this journey with intention. In Stage One, we focus on transition planning and the foundations of succession through the Kerzner STAMP, a readiness assessment. This stage emphasizes preparation, organizational health, professionalization, and the discovery process. In Stage Two, we examine governance and family systems. Family councils, trusted advisors, and clear communication practices create the psychological safety needed for families to navigate difficult conversations and manage inevitable conflict. In Stage Three, we explore growth and value enhancement, helping current and future leaders strengthen the capabilities necessary to sustain the family business across generations. The psychology behind succession planning ultimately reminds us that we do not truly own the businesses we lead; we steward them for the next generation. When families embrace that responsibility with humility, preparation, and purpose, they create something far greater than a successful business. They create a legacy. Matthew R. Kerzner, Ph.D. is the Owner and CEO of the New England Center for Family Business Excellence. With a background in industrial-organizational psychology and training from the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, he brings a unique, action-oriented and human-centered approach to coaching. Matt's work blends research, lived experience, psychology, and practical frameworks to guide families through succession planning, leadership development, and the emotional dynamics that come with transition. Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Succession planning was a vital process for family-owned businesses and was used to describe a wide variety of activities, including identifying talent and skill gap analysis. One of the outcomes of this book is to explore practices that CEOs or owners in FOBs used in their succession planning transition. Through the lens of organizational health, employee engagement, and succession planning transition, I was able to better understand the CEO or owner's perception that impacted the outcome of these three conceptual frameworks. Upon completion of this qualitative study, it was evident that the perceptions of the 15 CEOs or owners of the FOBs drove the data that provided the emerging themes. The emerging themes were utilized to compare past research and helped develop future practices to identify the preparedness levels of CEOs or owners as they completed a succession transition. In addition to developing practices that identified the levels of preparedness for CEOs or owners, I developed an audit to serve this purpose. Succession planning in family-owned businesses was a topic of importance; although generations were transitioning their businesses, their legacy was what remained constant. In developing their succession planning transition, CEOs or owners needed to be respectful of their past, be mindful of the present, and be prepared for the future.…
