Primrose Cumming (1915-2004) was a British writer of children's books, known for her pony stories. Peggy and Pegasus is her last novel. When Penny first heard that she was to go to Greece on holiday with her family and their friends, the Frazers, she was horrified. For it meant leaving her pony Mortimer and the chance of being in the Pony Club team. Angrily, she determined she was not going to enjoy any part of the holiday - and then she saw Pegasus. The book is bound in the original black boards with gold titling on the spine and a gold emblem on the front board. This copy may have been in some sort of library (possibly a school library), but the only indication appears to be a line of numbers on the copyright page. The case of the book is in very good condition with bumping to the corners and spine ends and some soiling near the top spine corner of the rear board. The contents are tight and clean apart from a few light marks and the front free endpaper has been removed and replaced with the rear free endpaper. The removal has caused a little damage to the spine edge of the front fixed endpaper. There is no inscription. The dustwrapper has shelf wear with some soiling and rubbing to the edges. Small pieces are missing from the corner tips and large pieces are missing from the top and bottom spine corners. The spine ends are bumped and nicked and there is some creasing along the top edge.
