Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Good. Charles A. Lawrence, James Hall, Grace L. Hall Ilustrador. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, interior cloth shows scuffing and handling wear along with edge and corner bumps/wear. Spine is also faded as is the illustration on the front. The internal binding is good, no hinge cracks at boards but there is pulling in various spots of the text pages, including the title page. There are no signatures or library markings, no scribbling etc. The front end page does show where a price was once penciled in the corner and then later erased, but this is the only handwriting found. Pages are toned due to age and there is a lot of spotting and foxing scattered throughout, which is most noticeable on the end pages and pastedowns.

Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. 1st Edition. Book is clean with a square, tight binding and bright, white pages. Book has minor wear on both covers, spine and spots on page edges that are difficult to see in the scans. The Rio Grande was ancient long before the first humans reached its banks. These days, the highly regulated river looks nothing like it did to those early settlers. Alternately viewed as a valuable ecosystem and life-sustaining foundation of community welfare or a commodity to be engineered to yield maximum economic benefit, the Rio Grande has brought many advantages to those who live in its valley, but the benefits have come at a price. This study examines human interactions with the Rio Grande from prehistoric time to the present day and explores what possibilities remain for the desert river. From the perspectives of law, development, tradition, and geology, the authors weigh what has been gained and lost by reining in the Rio Grande. The book you see in the image is the actual book we have for sale. When you buy this book from us, you are helping to support a small brick and mortar family owned store. We have been curating our collection for three generations and currently have over 250,000 volumes in stock. Please feel free to call for more stock.
