Contains 95 pages of introductory matter, and 102 letters written by Lamb between 1796 and 1801. Included are 41 letters to Samuel Taylor Coleridge and 13 to Robert Southey. Among other recipients are William Wordsworth, William Godwin, Robert Lloyd, and Thomas Manning. Bound in the original green cloth, lettered in shiny gold over a dark green spine panel. Laid in is a large folded facsimile of a letter from Mary Lamb to Sarah Hazlitt (late Stoddart), December 10, 1808. It begins: "Dear Sarah, I hear of you from your brother but you do not write yourself nor does HazlittÂ" The letter has a postscript written by Charles Lamb.
