Karmiloff-Smith amongst others, argues by contrast that disorders, such as Williams syndrome, are too complex to allow such general deduction as presented by Clahsen and Almazan.Method:First, the study by Clahsen and Almazan is going to be introduced. Then, more recent and challenging argumentation from different sources will be discussed in terms of plausibility of the conclusion drawn by the authors of the study.Result:The explanation offered by Clahsen and Almazan is clearly nondevelopmental and therefore discounts vital aspects of language acquisition, especially for people with disorders. Thus, their core argument turns out to be hardly tenable.Conclusion:Evaluation of the contrasting argumentation shows that neither Williams syndrome nor other disorders such as Specific language impairment alone can serve as ultimate proof for modularity of the human language faculty. Disorders rather point to crucial developmental delays and disadvantages in the process of language acquisition and therefore cannot be evidence for the dual structure of the language faculty. Even within single domains, fractionation occurs at such a complex level that any explanation must consider the aspect of development.

Different writings, and especially an article contributed by Morris in 1885 which he named 'The Worker s Share of Art'1 will be the main reference before other, selected prospects, and ideas are taken into consideration. The introduction of socialism will only focus on those aspects that are necessary for further understanding and which re-emerge in the arguments and formulations of William Morris who only became a socialist in his mid fourties. Generally, socialism is 'an ideology with the core belief that a society should exist in which popular collectives control the means of power, and therefore the means of production.'2 One of the main objectives of socialism is a classless society, which can either be created by revolution, or social revolution. The problem of the extended, and more detailed description of socialism as a concrete model for a society is its history. Indeed, meanwhile socialism is often misunderstood and due to the fact that history has shown some misinterpretations of the term, namely the National Socialists in Germany for instance, it has become very difficult to point out what socialism really means today. According to that, the opportunity which lasts to characterize socialism anyway, is to look at it at a certain time, and to leave out its historical development in general, but only to include those changes and processes which are of great importance for the period in question. Furthermore, there are other useful criteria to divide socialism as for instance the distinction between 'Socialism from above', and 'Socialism from beneath' as Hal Draper presents in his work 'The Two Souls of Socialism'3 in which he also refers to Morris.

Traditionen und Bräuche sind, wie so vieles andere, denselben konjunkturellen Schwankungen ausgesetzt und werden nicht zuletzt lediglich aufgrund ihrer Nützlichkeit hin und wieder zum Gegenstand aktuellen Interesses. Der Tod aber ist bis heute ein allgegenwärtiger Begleiter einer jeden Zeit, einer jeden Kultur, ob nun bewusst oder unbewusst, ob willkommen oder gefürchtet. 1 Die Vergänglichkeit des irdischen Lebens wurde über Jahrtausende stets unterschiedlich bewertet. Dennoch gibt es eine klare Tendenz, die vor allem in der westlichen Welt sehr deutlich erkennbar ist. Bis in die Gegenwart hat sich eine Entwicklung vollzogen, deren wesentlicher Bestandteil das Ausblenden des Todes aus dem alltäglichen Leben ist und deren Resultat eine Tabuisierung von Sterben und Tod als unerwünschtes und doch wissentlich unvermeidliches Ende menschlicher Existenz zur Folge hatte. 2 Doch diese Art des Umgangs mit dem Tod ist in Europa nicht immer so gewesen. Vor allem die enge Bindung großer Teile der Bevölkerung an den christlichen Glauben half den mittelalterlichen Menschen, sich mit ihrer eigenen Vergänglichkeit bewusster auseinanderzusetzen. Warum aber fällt es der heutigen Gesellschaft vergleichsweise schwer, ähnlichen oder gar denselben Strategien zu vertrauen, wie dies frühere Generationen taten Das Wissen um Sterben und Tod ist heute sehr viel umfangreicher als noch vor 500 Jahren und dennoch scheint es, als wenn all diese Erkenntnisse nicht dazu beitragen konnten, eine Haltung gegenüber dem Tod zu entwickeln, die vergleichbar wäre mit der »Ars Moriendi« 3, wie sie die mittelalterlichen Menschen kannten. Die vorliegende Arbeit soll neben einer Einführung in die ideelle Charakteristik der Kunst des Sterbens, vor allem Aufschluss geben über die Art und Weise , wie ihre Inhalte transportiert und den Menschen vermittelt wurden. Darüber hinaus soll anhand verschiedener Fragestellungen zumindest ansatzweise versucht werden, die Bedeutung der »Ars Moriendi« insgesamt zu kennzeichnen.

Different writings, and especially an article contributed by Morris in 1885 which he named 'The Worker¿s Share of Art'1 will be the main reference before other, selected prospects, and ideas are taken into consideration. The introduction of socialism will only focus on those aspects that are necessary for further understanding and which re-emerge in the arguments and formulations of William Morris who only became a socialist in his mid fourties. Generally, socialism is 'an ideology with the core belief that a society should exist in which popular collectives control the means of power, and therefore the means of production.'2One of the main objectives of socialism is a classless society, which can either be created by revolution, or social revolution. The problem of the extended, and more detailed description of socialism as a concrete model for a society is its history. Indeed, meanwhile socialism is often misunderstood and due to the fact that history has shown some misinterpretations of the term, namely the National Socialists in Germany for instance, it has become very difficult to point out what socialism really means today. According to that, the opportunity which lasts to characterize socialism anyway, is to look at it at a certain time, and to leave out its historical development in general, but only to include those changes and processes which are of great importance for the period in question. Traditionen und Bräuche sind, wie so vieles andere, denselben konjunkturellen Schwankungen ausgesetzt und werden nicht zuletzt lediglich aufgrund ihrer Nützlichkeit hin und wieder zum Gegenstand aktuellen Interesses. Der Tod aber ist bis heute ein allgegenwärtiger Begleiter einer jeden Zeit, einer jeden Kultur, ob nun bewusst oder unbewusst, ob willkommen oder gefürchtet. 1 Die Vergänglichkeit des irdischen Lebens wurde über Jahrtausende stets unterschiedlich bewertet. Dennoch gibt es eine klare Tendenz, die vor allem in der westlichen Welt sehr deutlich erkennbar ist. Bis in die Gegenwart hat sich eine Entwicklung vollzogen, deren wesentlicher Bestandteil das Ausblenden des Todes aus dem alltäglichen Leben ist und deren Resultat eine Tabuisierung von Sterben und Tod als unerwünschtes und doch wissentlich unvermeidliches Ende menschlicher Existenz zur Folge hatte. 2 Doch diese Art des Umgangs mit dem Tod ist in Europa nicht immer so gewesen. Vor allem die enge Bindung großer Teile der Bevölkerung an den christlichen Glauben half den mittelalterlichen Menschen, sich mit ihrer eigenen Vergänglichkeit bewusster auseinanderzusetzen. Warum aber fällt es der heutigen Gesellschaft vergleichsweise schwer, ähnlichen oder gar denselben Strategien zu vertrauen, wie dies frühere Generationen taten Das Wissen um Sterben und Tod ist heute sehr viel umfangreicher als noch vor 500 Jahren und dennoch scheint es, als wenn all diese Erkenntnisse nicht dazu beitragen konnten, eine Haltung gegenüber dem Tod zu entwickeln, die vergleichbar wäre mit der »Ars Moriendi« 3, wie sie die mittelalterlichen Menschen kannten. Die vorliegende Arbeit soll neben einer Einführung in die ideelle Charakteristik der Kunst des Sterbens, vor allem Aufschluss geben über die Art und Weise , wie ihre Inhalte transportiert und den Menschen vermittelt wurden.
