Jacket rubbed with minor dirt at edges, overall Very Good. The inscribee is J. Wayne Fredericks (1917-2004), distinguished Africanist, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State under the Kennedy and Johnson administrations, later Director of Africa programs for the Ford Foundation and Director of the Foreign Policy Association (1994-2004). Fredericks' work on behalf of Black South Africans was sufficiently well-known and significant that Desmond Tutu spoke at his memorial service in 2004.
