Illustrated with a frontispiece, a further 10 plates and numerous illustrations accompanying the text. Lacking the title page but otherwise complete. The Badminton Library of Sports and Pastimes was a series of sporting books, published by Longmans, Green & Co. between 1885 and 1902, and edited by Henry Somerset, 8th Duke of Beaufort (18241899). This series aimed to cover all major sports and pastimes. This volume celebrates billiards with chapters on the history of the sport and on the different aspects of playing the game.
