Il a été tiré de cette édition qui ne sera jamais réimprimée 1.500 exemplaires sur vélin teinté (le papier de la plupart de ces exemplaires sur vélin a très mal vieilli, papier bruni et roussi) et 100 exemplaires de luxe sur papier du japon (non annoncés sur les exemplaires ordinaires). Cet ouvrage est l'un des meilleurs et des plus illustrés sur la reliure moderne artistique des années 1880. Octave Uzanne s'est servi des spécimens de sa propre bibliothèque mais également de ceux de divers collectionneurs bibliophiles et amis comme : E. Terquem, Ed. Rouveyre, Paul Meurice, Chambolle-Duru, Amand, Marius-Michel, Gruel, etc. Sont ainsi reproduits 72 très beaux spécimens de reliures emblématiques des courants artistiques de l'époque tel le japonisme, les reliures décorées, peintes, etc. Anker Kyster était un relieur d'art danois de grand talent. Il était renommé dans le milieu bibliophilique international pour ses reliures décorées. "The name of Anker Kyster is not unfamiliar to lovers of artistic bookbindings: in fact, he has many friends both in Europe and America. The following illustrations show some of his latest work, which can only Serve to further enhance his reputation as a craftsman of great skill." (The Bindings of Anker Kyster published in the International Studio in 1901). Notre reliure est signée de son nom est datée de 1943. Anker Kyster est mort en avril 1939 (né en 1864). Notre reliure a donc été faite par un successeur de cet atelier qui continua à signer de ce nom. L'activité de cet atelier de reliure entre 1939 et 1943 n'est semble-t-il pas documentée.
