Its continued scholarly relevance is suggested by contemporary reviews and later citations; the book was reviewed in both The Engineering Economist and Natural Resources Journal. Copyright page states ©1964 and gives the unusually explicit Prentice-Hall statement "Current printing (last digit): 17 16 15 14." The book itself is Near Fine: black textured cloth remains exceptionally clean and bright, with crisp silver spine and front-cover lettering, square boards, sound hinges/binding, and notably clean pages. The principal copy-specific defect is the ownership/donation notation on the front free endpaper: "Property of Anja M. Clark / Donated to OAL by Anja ? March 2026." No other annotations found. Dust jacket is Very Good. The original tan, black, and orange pictorial jacket is complete and visually striking, with small edge and corner wear, and short chips/nicks, particularly around the spine ends and extremities. Garfield is identified in the book as an economist with Foster Associates in Washington, D.C., specializing in price-regulation matters and formerly an associate professor at Miami University, Ohio; Lovejoy was an associate professor of economics at Southern Methodist University.
