La reliure signée Capé en 1/2 chagrin vert foncé à coins est très belle, dos richement ornés, à 5 nerfs, formant des caissons à encadrement de filet doré logeant des fers d'une grande finesse, les nerfs sont à filets perlés, les 2ème et 3ème entre-nerfs sont réservés à l'auteur et la tomaison et au titre du volume en lettres dorées, plats marbrés, lisières cuir-papier soulignées d'un filet doré, gardes peignées, tête dorée, signature du relieur en pied du dos. les mors du tome XX sont un peu frottés, exemplaire sans rousseurs, en excellent état. On ne trouve pas de trace dans cette édition de la notice préliminaire de Charles Nodier annoncée dans les pages de titre. Reliure Signée De capé.

Por lo demás, muy buen ejemplar. Los redactores en sus entregas mensuales encuentran mucho para censurar en el conjunto de la literatura del s. XIX, y más concretamente en las obras de George Sand, Balzac, Lord Byron, Ann Radcliffe, Eugène Sue, Victor Hugo, Jeremy Bentham, Voltaire (¿cómo no? con algo de retraso.), Stendhal, Alejandro Dumas, John Locke, etc., y los españoles Mariano José de Larra, Martínez de la Rosa, José Esproncedo (El Diablo Mundo), José Zorrilla (Don Juan Tenorio), Campoamor. Ni siquiera las obras de autores católicos escapan la censura: el Diccionario Abreviado de la Religión Cristiana del abate Berguier es "una obra de maldición', las poesías del padre Arolas contienen versos "escandalosos". Especial mencíón merece la nota sobre Biblias Protestantes "y ha llegado a tal punto la audacia de los sectarios y la indolencia de nuestros gobiernos que se ha impreso en España misma, según indicios, el Evangelio de San Lucas traducido al romaní o dialecto de los gitanos; y aun recordamos haber visto en algún puesto de libros viejos ese mismo Evangelio, o el de san Mateo traducido al vascuence: por de contado [sic] una y otra versión están desnudas de toda nota y comentario y hechas según la conciencia de los herejes." Estas parecen ser las primeras referencias en la bibliografía española de la traducción de George Borrow del Evangelio de San Lucas al romaní, publicada en 1837, y su edición de 1838 del Evangelio de San Mateo traducido al euskera por Oteiza.
