Blue boards have some bumping to corners and fading at the top and bottom of the spine where the jacket is damaged. Page edges are lightly browned. Front free endpaper has a gift message dated 1950 and the front pastedown has a bookshop label . There is also a bookshop stamp to the rear paste down. Pages are lightly browned with a slight musty smell but are otherwise clean and unmarked. Jacket has some edge and surface wear with creasing and some chipping to the top of the spine and the corners. There is an inch square section missing from the base of the spine and a similar sized piece missing from the bottom of the rear panel which is creased along the bottom edge. First printing.
