Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: NEW. First edition. 145pp. Octavo [23cm]; perfect-bound in glossy illustrated/pictorial covers. A profound meditation on on life and death. One of The Sonosopher's best works. From the publisher (Andy Hoffmann of Elik Press): "The poems that make up Alex Caldiero?s Sonosuono speak to each other as brothers and sisters around a kitchen table in a passionate discussion of origins, of the importance of place. Much like the William Carlos Williams of Paterson, or the Anne Waldman of Iovis, Caldiero combs through family history in a lyric that troubles the waters of nostalgia, even as he asks the reader to meditate on the meaning and loss of home. As always, for Caldiero, the rhythm of language is the heart of the work, the beat of the world revealed. Sonosuono is as enormous as it is tight, every word an apostle of the poet?s creed.".

Añadir al carritoDVD. Condición: NEW. DVD. 61-minute feature film with over 30 minutes of deleted scenes and extras. Professionally pressed and printed DVD disc, housed in a standard clear DVD case. Full color photographic layout. 20-page saddle-stitched booklet insert containing artwork and an unpublished essay by Alex Caldiero as well as a critical essay by UVU Professor Scott Abbott. "The Sonosopher" is an experiential voyage into the peculiar life and art of Alex Caldiero. Tracing his birth and childhood in rural Sicily as well as his coming of age as a poet in New York City, Caldiero is found living in conservative Utah years after his conversion and separation from Mormonism. The film explores Caldiero's lifeflong artistic investigation into "Sonosophy," a unique hybrid of sound, poetry, and philosophy. Borrowing techniques from such diverse genres as avant-garde film and cinema verite, "The Sonosopher" portrays Caliero's life and work at its most traditional and most bizarre. Utilizing these diverse methods, the filmmakers arfully blend current performance and interview footage, 8mm family videos, and archival material to tell the intimate story of this Utah artist.
