The illustrated wraps are in very good condition. XX [From the back cover] Here is the book the book-buying public, collectors and librarians will always want. It is complete and accurate, and the illustrations are from actual photographs. In this book Everett Lloyd has written a fair, impartial and genuinely entertaining biography of a man whose life has largely been lost in enigma; one about whom many laughable stories have been told and printed. Here for the first time all the Roy Bean stories, in addition to all the facts of his life and career have been brought together in permanent form. Every fact pertaining to the life of Roy Bean will be found in this volume. XX [Wikipedia] Phantly Roy Bean Jr. (c. 1825 - March 16, 1903) was an American saloonkeeper and Justice of the Peace in Val Verde County, Texas, who called himself "The Only Law West of the Pecos." He held court in his saloon along the Rio Grande in a desolate stretch of the Chihuahuan Desert. Legend records his jurisprudence as thoroughly abnormal and in many instances comical. Although remembered as a hanging judge who said "hang 'em first and try 'em later," he never had anyone hanged. Mead, Ben Carlton [illus.] (ilustrador).…
