Er war zwischen 1659 und 1689 in Wien tätig, heiratete 1665 und hielt sich vorübergehend auch in Prag auf. Von seiner Hand sind vor allem Porträts, Darstellungen von Tagesereignissen, Heiligenbilder und topographische Darstellungen mit dekorativer Rahmung und Beiwerk bekannt. 1683 verfasste und veröffentlichte er eine Beschreibung der Belagerung Wiens durch die Osmanen mit Stichillustrationen. 1689 zeichnete und stach er das Karmeliterkloster "in der Wüste" bei Mannersdorf und etwa um diese Zeit auch ein großes Blatt mit einer Vogelschauansicht des Stiftes Klosterneuburg. Lerch starb 1693 in Wien.- Papier fachmännisch restauriert und Mittelfalz geglättet.
