Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: Good. Paper. Used, good condition. No internal marks, but front cover tip torn off, wear on spine, general wear on covers, bumped corners. Winters, Lawrence. RUGS AND CARPETS FROM THE ORIENT. A MONOGRAPH BY LAWRENCE WINTERS. H.B. Claflin, 1899, 39 p., 26 illus., 23 x 15.5 cm. This is the first version of this book, produced by the Claflin Company, a rug importer, for use for themselves and rug retailers. The text describes the history of rug production, how the rugs are made (with a picture of 5 weavers sitting in front of a vertical loom with the balls of different colored wool hanging above their heads), that it is more profitable to marry a good weaver who then works for free rather than hire one, information on dyes, and a long description of bargaining in the east and why it thus better to buy from Claflin. Book.
