Mit Balkon ist eine seiner Arbeiten, mit denen er feinsinnig und hintergründig unsere Wahrnehmung ad absurdum führt, vertraute Erzählzusammenhänge auf den Kopf und Wirklichkeit in Frage stellt. Weit davon entfernt, nur fotografische Satire sein zu wollen, geben Kunerts Miniaturen Gedanken- und Wortspielereien dreidimensionale Gestalt und machen sie dadurch im wahrsten Sinne begreifbar. In den Modellkulissen, die in wochenlanger Kleinstarbeit gefertigt und schließlich im Studio fotografiert werden, denkt und baut Frank Kunert auf schönste Weise gegen unsere abgenutzten Begriffs- und Vorstellungswelten an [Verlagsinfo].
