Thats the essence of Leadership U: it starts with U but its not about U. Those timeless words are timelier than ever today, as leaders look to accelerate through the crisis curve. As author Gary Burnison observes, There will likely be more change in the next two years than we have seen in the last twenty. Now, in Leadership U: Accelerating Through the Crisis Curve, Burnison lays out a frameworkhis Six Degrees of Leadershipto show leaders how to create change. Anticipate foreseeing what lies ahead, amid ambiguity and uncertainty that are throttled up like never before Navigate course-correcting in real time, to keep the organization on an even keel Communication constantly connecting with others; the leader is both the messenger and the message Listen breaking down the organizational hierarchy to gather insights at all levelsespecially what the leader doesnt want to hear Learn applying learning agility, to know what to do when you dont know what to do Lead empowering others in a bottom-up culture that is more nimble, agile, innovative, and entrepreneurial than ever before. Only by embracing these truths can leaders master another Uthe crisis curve that will completely disrupt the business landscape. The world has changedforever. The old days are fine to reminiscence about, but you cant stay there. Today leadership means becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable. As Burnison says, when a door closes, leaders cannot afford to stand there, staring at it. Its a get up or give up moment. For leaders, the only choice is to find and open another door. Leadership U defines and inspires the pathway through that door. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. This is a brochure that addresses the Korn Ferry mission and their approach to helping people and organizations rise. Korn Ferry International, headquartered in Los Angeles, is an organizational and people advisory firm and the world's largest provider of executive search. The firm was founded in 1969 by Lester Korn and Richard Ferry. The two first met in 1962, when they worked for Los Angeles accounting firmâ"Peat, Marwick, Mitchell. Before leaving to form Korn Ferry, the two made partner at the firm. In 1972 the firm went public with an IPO and within two years (1974) had acquired all outstanding shares to become private again. In the 1970s Korn Ferry expanded internationally by a combination of acquiring small to medium-sized enterprises and setting up subsidiaries of Korn Ferry International. An example being the formation of Tokyo, Japan based Korn Ferry International Japan in 1973. By 1981, the company was the largest executive search firm in the world, with Lester Korn serving as Chairman and CEO. In 1987 Korn Ferry opened an office in Bangkok, Thailand with a footprint of 37 offices in fifteen countries servicing around 1,250 client corporations and organizations. In 1989, the firm's revenues exceeded $100 million equivalent to ($191 million in 2015) for the first time. On May 10, 1991 Lester Korn retired as chairman with Richard Ferry then president and CEO assuming the additional role of chairman. Reflective of 1991 executive-recruiting firms' economic outlook in the face of corporate clients successfully arrangements of lower fees, added services without cost, and industry trend of search firms being used less; Richard Ferry implemented cut costs through office closing and redundancies. Under Richard Ferry, Korn Ferry in 1993 acquired and merged its European operations into Carre Orban and Partners that was branded in Europe as Korn/Ferry Carre/Orban International. In what was reported as increased competition in the management-consulting industry in 1995 Korn Ferry sold its organizational-consulting practice and executive-pay consulting firm.

Condición: Very Good. **A SUCCESS MAGAZINE BESTSELLER** Leadership is inspiring others to believe and enabling that belief to become reality In Love, Hope & Leadership: A Special Edition, bestselling author Gary Burnison, CEO of Korn Ferry, offers an inspiring collection of reflections, perspectives, and pivot points that capture the moment and define how we live and lead today. Through stories and beautiful imagery, with the look and feel of a coffee table book, Love, Hope & Leadership illustrates todays dynamic environment while offering leadership advice for executives and professionals to consider. The book explores the attributes of what makes leadership not only personal, but also Special: Selflessness knowing that improving an organization starts by improving ourselves Potential helping others exceed more than what they thought possible Empathy meeting others where they are to embrace who they are Connection adopting a horizontal mindset across communities and even society Inclusion creating a sense of belonging by consciously including everyone Authenticity ensuring others trust what we say, so they can believe in what we do Love leading with our hearts as we seek to understand As the book chronicles: Leadership is never about the what and the how its always about the who. We are all in the people business. What it takes to lead others is often found in the intangibles the unseen that has just as much value as what is seen. Without love for other people, we cannot have love for what we do. Purpose and people are always inextricably intertwined. This is the realization that changes everything: it starts with you, but its not about you. Timely and thought-provoking, Love, Hope & Leadership will speak to managers, executives, entrepreneurs, and other leaders, with the reminder that hope and humanity are not luxuries, but necessities for leading in todays world. For organizations to succeed, they need to identify, develop, and support the leaders that will drive their future strategy. Effective succession planning is therefore essential for continued business success. But what do executives around the world really think about their succession initiatives? Do they have a view on what best practices should be, and do their organizations follow it? What do they consider to be the benefits of and the barriers to successful succession planning? Korn Ferry commissioned a global research project on succession planning. The results raise some significant concerns over the risks businesses are taking, while at the same time presenting real opportunities for learning and change. This survey covered 54 countries globally and companies ranging in size from 500 to 50,000 employees.
