Since David Cook did publish this book, I am assuming this is a variant edition of the book issued without a publisher's note or page. I believe this book was first published in 1881. Does not appear to be missing any pages, but begins (after the first blank fly leaf) with the first page of the story which includes the title. Short tear to first fly leaf and a tiny tear to edge of page 10. Covers are origina gray-blue cloth with gilt spine lettering and gray corner tips over brown marbled cover.
