Añadir al carritocart. edit. Condición: Molto Buono. Hirmer Verlag, Colonia , 2014. Autore/i: a cura di Manuela Beer, Iris Metje, Karen Straub, Saskia Werth and Moritz Woelk. cart. edit. oltre 230 ill. a colori n.t. ISBN 3777422673 9788836620579 9783777422671 The book celebrates the 850th anniversary of the arrival of the remains of The Magi, the Three Wise Men, in Cologne, the momentous event that made the cathedral city one of the major pilgrimage sites of the Middle Ages. Their remains were installed and integrated into the Shrine of the Magi reliquary, the famous work of Nicholas of Verdun and the largest reliquary in the Western world. The Magi: Legend, Art and Cult includes works of art from the fourth to the sixteenth century, including Magi fi gures in ivory, sculptures, paintings, manuscripts and other works from Italy, Germany and France. It examines the changing symbolism of the Magi, that reached its apex in the age of Gothic cathedrals. Royal affl uence and courtly ceremony of the time are reflected in fashions in the time when each of the artworks was commissioned. Many of the works' donors include themselves in the depiction of the Magi, among them Frederick Barbarossa, who arranged the original transfer of the remains of The Magi from Milan in 1164. Añadir al carritoTaschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - In this monograph the authors have emphasized a number of important concepts in mammalian kidney development. Emphasis has been put on methodology so that the reader can understand how certain results or conclusions were reached and what the optimal methods for reliable results to be obtained are. In addition, as well as descriptions of the morphology there is information on the genetic basis of the structural development. In addition much attention has been paid to how nephron number may be altered by changes in the environment of the developing kidney and to the consequences for the remaining nephron gene expression and kidney function when total nephron number is altered. The consequences for the health of the adult, upon the formation of an adult kidney with altered nephron number and (potentially) gene expression, can be quite serious. The epigenetic mechanisms by which such changes can occur are introduced as a very fertile field for future investigation.
