Located on the Tuscarawas River near New Philadelphia, Ohio, the village of Schoenbrunn was founded in 1772 by Moravian missionary David Zeisberger and was a fairly successful settlement through early 1778 but was occupied only intermittently during the Revolutionary War and abandoned completely by 1781. …
