Añadir al carritoSoftcover. Condición: Very Good. A close investigation of the varied iterations of the human figure from 1870 ? 1970, a period of sweeping change in art. The selection of paintings, sculptures, textiles and works on paper by such seminal and diverse artists as Picasso, Rodin, Giacometti, Kokoschka, Cassatt, Renoir, Degas, and Lipchitz from the foundation?s holdings of European and American art affords a thoughtful look at the evolution art through the locus of the human figure. This gallery displays selections of European paintings and sculptures from the late 19th to the mid-20th century by some of the most renowned artists of the time. Their works are marked by a new-found freedom prompted by a resistance to the conservative and restrictive art academies that dominated artistic taste. These works explore ideas about dreams and the inner mind, depict the human body with an expressive frankness, and showcase a personal iconography and individualized manner of creation. The Kasser Mochary Art Foundation was established in 1968 by Alexander and Elisabeth Kasser along with their daughter Mary Mochary with the mission of inspiring and promoting appreciation of the fine arts. The primary focus of the Foundation is to lend significant works of art to regional museums from its holdings of important 19th and 20th century European and American art. …

Book has minor wear on the edges that is difficult to see in the scans and light scuffing o the back cover. Elaine Horvitch was a major force in contemporary art in the Southwest from the late 1960s until her death in 1991. She was responsible for launching the careers of hundreds of artists from the Southwest and the nation. She promoted the integration of fine art and crafts as well as contemporary Indigenous, Latino, and Southwest art within global art contexts. Horwitch opened her first art business in Scottsdale in 1964 and the first Elaine Horwitch Galleries in Scottsdale in 1973, followed by galleries in Santa Fe in 1976, Sedona in 1982, and Palm Springs in 1986. She was a catalyst for the rise of what has been coined "Southwest Pop" and the "Art of the New Southwest." The book you see in the images is the actual book we have for sale. Condición: Very Good. Hardcover in a bright dust jacket. 124 pages. MF Cardamone creates artwork that harks back to centuries past but is deeply rooted in the present. Her cultural and sociological commentary, delivered in words and images, reveals her sly sense of humor and love of all things botanical. An artist fluent in various media, including painting, sculpture, and limited-edition clothing, Cardamone discovered her passion for plants when she restored a garden at her seventy-five-year old farmhouse near Philadelphia. She enrolled in the Barnes Foundation Arboretum School and learned to collect specimens and create herbarium sheets, documenting the many medicinal uses of plants along with their history and landscaping potential. She picked up old books of botanical illustration, and herbals from a time when a pharmacist might prescribe a homemade tea to cure whatever ailed you. When her studies expanded to medical QiGong and Hatha yoga, her artwork took on a spiritual dimension. Cardamone begins with a plant specimen and watercolor paper, then turns to gouache, pen and ink, and digital imagery. She balances the scientific aspect of her work with a large dose of humor in the selection and placement of cultural icons from the plant's home environment Record # 380004. MF Cardamone (ilustrador).…
