Añadir al carritoAugust 1993 issue of Post Parade signed by American jockey and Belmont Stakes winner, Julie Krone. Octavo, original wrappers with a portrait of Krone on the front panel, illustrated with advertisements and color photographs. Boldly signed by Julie Krone in black felt tip with a smiley face on the front panel. This issue features an article on Krone by Sue Finley titled "Classic Krone." In fine condition. Julie Krone (b. July 24, 1963, in Benton Harbor, Michigan) stands as one of the most accomplished jockeys in the history of American thoroughbred racing and a pivotal figure in the integration of women into elite professional sports. Beginning her riding career in the early 1980s, Krone rapidly distinguished herself in a field that had long resisted female participation, accumulating more than 3,500 victories over the course of her career. Her most celebrated achievement came in 1993, when she became the first woman to win a Triple Crown race, capturing the Belmont Stakes aboard Colonial Affair - a milestone that fundamentally challenged prevailing assumptions about gender and physical competition in racing. In 2000 she became the first woman inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, and she later added the distinction of being the first female jockey to win a Breeders' Cup race.

Añadir al carritoMay 1994 issue of Post Parade signed by three of the most iconic Hall of Fame jockeys Mike Smith, Julie Krone, and Jerry Bailey. Octavo, original wrappers with a portrait of Smith, Krone, and Bailey on the front panel, illustrated with advertisements and color photographs. Boldly signed by Mike Smith, Julie Krone, and Jerry Bailey in black felt tip on the front panel on their respective images, with Krone's characteristic smiley face. In near fine condition. Mike Smith (born 1965), Julie Krone (born 1963), and Jerry Bailey (born 1957) are three of the most decorated and historically significant jockeys in the history of American thoroughbred racing, each inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame and each having left an indelible mark on the sport across careers of extraordinary achievement. Krone, born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, made history in 1993 as the first and still only female jockey to win a Triple Crown race when she rode Colonial Affair to victory in the Belmont Stakes, and in 2000 became the first woman inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, accumulating 3,704 career victories. Bailey, widely regarded as one of the greatest jockeys of all time, won the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Jockey seven times between 1995 and 2003 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1995, riding such legendary horses as Cigar, Grindstone, and Empire Maker while setting the record of 216 Grade 1 victories that stood until it was surpassed by Mike Smith. Smith, inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2003, has won over 5,794 races with purse earnings of more than $356 million, broke Bailey's Grade 1 record in December 2019, and is the all-time leader in Breeders' Cup victories, having piloted two Triple Crown winners in Justify and such celebrated champions as Zenyatta, Arrogate, and Songbird across a career spanning more than four decades and representing the longest sustained excellence of the three.
