Añadir al carritoFirst edition. Illustrated. Inscribed by Kitaj to his eventual wife, Sandra Fisher, 'pour ma cherie. Edgar 1979'. Very good copy in slightly worn and soiled dust jacket. A particularly charming inscription, Kitaj playfully signing himself as Degas for the purpose of the gift. After living together for over a decade, Kitaj and his fellow artist, Sandra Fisher, married in December 1983. Degas was one of Kitaj's heroes and it was Fisher's encouragement, along with a visit to the Petit Palais in 1975, that led Kitaj to experiment with pastels, a medium he rapidly mastered.
