Cet ouvrage, basé sur une revue de la littérature et surtout sur les travaux de Belot, est divisé en 3 parties. Belot expose les méthodes de traitement et les résultats obtenus dans les tumeurs malignes (mycosis fongoïde, mélanome, carcinome etc.), le lupus vulgaire, le psoriasis, la sclérodermie, les kéloïdes etc. La bibliographie (pp. 501-516) est exhaustive. Ce livre présente l'intérêt d'être très bien illustré, avec de belles planches montrant (parfois dans des scènes animées) le matériel utilisé ou encore des patients avant et après traitement. Cet ouvrage fut très bien accueilli dans la littérature médicale internationale et une deuxième édition, revue et augmentée, fut publiée dès l'année suivante.
