Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book presents an informative and detailed insight into the controversial origins, development, and activities of the German Emigration Company, which played a pivotal role in promoting German emigration to Texas from 1842 to 1847. The author, an active participant in the events he describes, sheds light on the company's financial struggles, blunders, land acquisitions, and conflicts with settlers and Native American tribes. The book also explores the terms and inducements offered to emigrants and the complexities of land transfers. Through its rich historical context, the book not only chronicles the experiences of German immigrants but also highlights the challenges and complexities of large-scale colonization efforts in 19th-century Texas. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
