Hugh Dawnay was the son of Viscount Downe. He was killed in action in the First Battle of Ypres on 6 November 1914. He was decorated with the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.). I little light scuffing on the front cover as well. No dustjacket. Owner's name on flyleaf in pencil Page edges show light spotting, pages mostly unmarked- an exception pages 44-45 have thumb marks on the leading side, with a small bit of surface damage.

Previous owner's name at top of title page, dated 1891. No other inscriptions. Size: 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" Tall.
