Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: Very Good. For almost a decade, psychic medium Joe Power has used his extraordinary powers to investigate high-profile, unsolved crimes around the world, including, most recently, the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. But it wasn't always this way. Joe had denied his psychic abilities until the day his brother was found dead. Then messages from the spirit world led him to see the shocking truth behind the tragedy . . . his brother had been murdered. Joe realized he could no longer ignore the startling visions and voices in his head. He vowed to use his psychic gift to help solve the murder cases that were leaving detectives baffled, and loved ones without closure. In The Man Who Sees Dead People he tells the astonishing story of his life for the first time. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.

Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: new. Paperback. The IRA Volunteers of County Clare were pioneers of the tactics of guerrilla warfare. In 1919, with the moral support of Dr. Michael Fogarty, Catholic Bishop of Killaloe, they took on the vastly superior forces of the Crown. Through their successful 'hit-and-run' tactics, the IRA undermined and paralyzed British rule in the county until the truce finally came on 11 July 1921.In this comprehensively researched and scholarly work, the author tells a story that highlights the particular role of the men and women of Clare in the national conflict, which offers unique insights into the major events, successful ambushes, Black and Tan reprisals and controversial IRA executions during the national struggle for independence. A history of County Clare, Ireland, during the period of the Irish War of Independence. This work highlights the role of the individual men and women of the area in the context of the national conflict. Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: New. Aristocrats and itinerants, unionists and nationalists, Catholics and Protestants - the Great War united thousands of Clare men and women to a cause for which many of them would go out to fight and die. Their motives varied from a sense of duty to 'king and country' to concern about the fate of 'poor Catholic Belgium'; from mercenary motives, fuelled by poverty, to the moral duty to fight for civilization against the 'savage Huns'. Some followed 'Redmond's call' to secure Home Rule, while others enlisted for sheer adventure. The work attempts, for the first time, to understand what really happened in County Clare during the Great War, how its economic and political life was radically transformed during this terrible conflict, and how the contribution of those who gave their lives was largely written out of history.'.

Añadir al carritoVintage full-color still photograph from the 1975 US film. Gambler Ron Lewis (Joe Don Baker) wins a ton of money but is later robbed in the street. In self defense he kills a cop and is sentenced to 4 years of prison, where he plots bloody revenge on the corrupt police force and the mayor. Location shooting was critical to the film's gritty look. The AFI catalog notes: "[The film's] end credits include the following information: 'Filmed Entirely on Location in The State of Tennessee.' . shooting was set to begin in mid-Jul 1973 in New Orleans, LA . but filming didn't begin until 14 May 1974, in Nashville, TN, instead of New Orleans. . The film was also shot on locations within twenty miles of the State Capitol in Nashville, TN, including the capitol building itself. At Tennessee State Prison, real security guards and convicts were used as extras. Governor Winfield Dunn loaned his state-owned Lear jet for a sequence filmed at Rutherford County-Smyrna Airport. Nashville's historic downtown was closed down after midnight for filming. Other locations were Radnor Lake, the Starlite nightclub in north Nashville, the Sheraton-South Motor Inn, and Longacres, the opulent estate of a local businessman." 8 x 10 inches.
