Añadir al carritoTwo photos, 5 x 7 in., and 4 x 6 in., both stamped on verso "Credit Townsend Godsey," and "copyright pending." Both originally tipped onto larger sheets of letterhead for Townsend Godsey's Service, Jefferson City, MO, "News Flash!" Remains of glue on versos of both photos, which are now laid into the letterhead sheets loose. The slightly larger photo is of the Missouri State Capitol building, and a typed caption on the letterhead: "purists are crying 'blasphemy' that [Thomas Hart] Benton with his Horgarthian [sic] characters" had been given a contract for murals in the building. The second photo shows a boy with a straw hat over his face and barefeet, resting against a tree trunk, with the typed caption on the letterhead noting "an Ozarkian lad spending a typical afternoon when the fish aren't biting." Townsend Godsey was a photojournalist who documented the people and places of Missouri and the Ozarks.…
