Decorated with publisher's device on title page and end piece vignette. Two novels, first published around 1856, bound together in one without indication of authors. The Star and The Cloud is by the popular US novelist, Azel Stevens Roe(1798-1853) and Nellie of Truro by the poet and hymn writer, Jane Elizabeth Roscoe Hornblower (1787-1853), born in Liverpool.
